How many ilama varieties are there? I only know of the red and white.
-
There's more then that. Fruit color is a trait of varieties, not the varieties themselves.

Good luck Raul , as you know the purple pulp one is still on my bucket list , I've been trying for close to one year now to contact these people . First they don't answer ( classical ) , 6 months later they say they will transfer my request to the right people in their organization .....still waiting . Some friends from that area " Tierra Caliente " advised me not to go over there if I cherish my life , controlled by the Cartels . There is a guy ( old timer - even older than me ...lol....) who has a collection of more than 30 varieties in his potrero . I managed to narrow it down to a little town somewhere 50 km higher up in the sierra . I think we will need to hire Team 6 or similar , not sure if the Expendables are still in business ...find out will you ...if we ever wanna ad all those to our collection .
Anyway ....I miss those short expeditions we use to take , I still would like to take the risk , at my age I'd rather die from a bullet than from high blood pressure .

Jf,
It is beautiful. I envy your annonas collection. I have the red ilama but I don't have any other type of ilama. All of your ilama grafts failed maybe it was too hot and I didn't have enough shades. I'm looking forward to more of your scions in the spring.
If you have other types please tell us in details.
-
Raul,
Sign me up for some seeds too. Thanks!

Marklee,
Please update us on the color and taste of your ilama. If it is different from what I have I would love some scion wood. It is a very pretty plant and flower.
-
Would ilama survive the cold nights in Inland Empire area? I was able to experience the winter in Riverside earlier in the year. There was couple of nights that the temps dipped into the mid 30s. I didn't see any dead trees or plant from anyone, but I am not too sure.

Ilama white .

That white ilama has more of an elongated look compared to mine, I guess that's 2 different varieties of white.
