« on: August 02, 2020, 11:38:35 AM »
Hi all, when making tea from white sapote leaves is it best to use new young leaves as in the new spring growth when they are fresh and light green, or it it better to wait till later in the year when the leaves are darker and more mature ?

thanks for the reply pinkturtle I have tried it both ways and give it to my wife for high blood pressure I was hoping that someone could tell me if they where more potent and had more of the compounds in them that made them good for a medicinal tea at a new leaf verses a old mature leaf not concerned about the taste

I looked up info from google search and some people have used the leaves for making tea (Daily's Fruit forum). Here's some info on casimiroa leaves.

Dried Casimiroa Leaves - Plantation Collection, this is from "Tropical Fruit World".

If you buy this for $12.95 it looks like on the back there is instructions on making herbal tea with it (see photos).

If you tried it both ways you could test her Blood pressure with a stethoscope.

I wonder if the leaves can make you sleepy like the fruit? That would be great to know.
