PPC atemoya to plant or not to plant
« on: June 17, 2018, 08:58:37 PM »
Recently bought a 15 gallon PPC from Excalibur, have not had a chance to plant it since getting it about a month ago.  Rains helped it recover from transport down to our house. It has flourished, and has flushed and has about 6 solid fruit on it. About plum size at this time and has more flowers. Definitely happy to have a self pollinating atemoya. Question is to plant it and risk losing all the fruit, or wait until fruit aborts or matures in pot and then plant later in fall. Would love to taste one sooner than later. (selfish I know lol) If left in pot should I give it a touch of Excalibur fert?

I would plant it now. water heavy and avoid fertilizer. I have 3 types of atemoyas and
they are very easy trees for me. If you lose the fruit this year you'll get it back next year and
then some?
