Title: From Germany, what are these fruits?

I didn't dare try, Lol.

Looks very, very much like cherries.
Maybe they're too sour?

Either cherry or sour cherry. Impossible to know without tasting it. The tree seems big, so Cherry (Prunus avium) with its stripped bark would be my first option. Maybe a wild "mollar cherry" type. In this case, you can expect more flavour notes than modern varieties (that are basically sugar) and a soft, not crunchy, meat with a pinch of sourness in a smaller fruit.

Looks like black cherry of Atlantic states of USA. Prunus serotina. Triphal 6b

This is a Prunus avium probably a seedling of a garden variety. Definately not a true native P.avium. These would have more darker fruits.
Actually feral P.avium can taste quite good. Each tree is different. But some are sour or even slightly bitter. Eating will not harm you.
