Having some trouble identifying this fruit which seems to be Sapotaceae, has latex. Don't know the genus or species, any help is much appreciated. Fruit was found on the ground as shown.

Looks like a strange, underdeveloped and maybe overripe Abiu (Pouteria caimito).

I think Grapebush is right. It`s a Pouteria caimito/Abiu. But I would not say it looks strange or overripe. It`s just an green/unripe abiu.
Abiu can vary a lot in fruit shape. Not al abius are round.
