I tried my hand at inarching on a sickly avocado tree that I transplanted one to many times.
Everything seems like it has healed up and the tree is looking a lot better.
Because of the success I finally decided to try Inarching my Mamey.
Here is a picture from early 2017, I planted the Mamey along with two Canistel seedling I had laying around.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the area before grafting.
The Canistels grow quite a bit though.
The first Inarch was more like a veneer or approach graft. (the bottom only lined up on one side)
The second one was like a side cleft
Final product:
Well see in a few months if this takes.
I don't really know what time of the year is best for inarching as they seem to take a lot longer to heal the regular grafting.
Apparently Mamey doesn't like or limestone soil here so I'm hoping the canistel root system will help it thrive.
