Asian guava problems.. Please help!!
« on: August 21, 2018, 05:27:24 PM »

I have an Asian guava tree in my yard. It stays small and is very productive. I love the fruit as well. However, the fruits I harvested recently had worms in them and also had some black spots. I had to throw them all away. Is there anything, beside bagging the fruit, that I should do to stop this from happening?  Sprays? Systemic stuff?

Buy some organza bags and bag them. Don't think there's any other way.

You could just eat the worms as added protein... 😆😂🙃

The organza bags have worked really well, and they last for many seasons (you can reuse them). Just make sure to buy the right size. I get pretty big ones (like 8 x 10 if memory serves). As long as you cover them early enough, the fruit come out worm free.
