Is a White Sapote supposed to look like this?

I've heard of some tropical plants having a fat bulb at the roots. Is this normal for white sapote?

Kind of looks like the seedling fell over sideways and then regrew upwards after that. Not all that unusual.

i would keep it staked for a bit
maybe unstake it for a while in low winds
to force it to strengthen the base.

i would just worry a little about high winds, uprooting or snapping.
i dont know that much about white sapote though
so i dont know if its a strong wood or not.
i have one about the same size, or a little larger,
and havent had any problems with it.
its kinda protected from wind though.

I haven't seen one like that, and don't know very much about them, but have observed several grafted white sapotes which have exceptionally bulbous rootstocks compared to other species of trees.

Tree is about 5' tall and doing fine, but has not produced any fruit or held any blooms.
