I was actually being facetious. I figure if you are going to make a milkshake keep it basic as to retain the natural flavor.
Milk to add the flavor of milk.
Ice to chill down the mixture.
Condensed Milk to offset the ice dilution.
Sugar to intensify the sweetness of the fruit.
And the fruit of course!
In the end you end up with milk, fruit, and Tbs of sugar, preserving the taste of the Mamey!
IMO, problem with your recipe is:
- sweetened condensed milk has a distict flavor that is not needed
- no need to add ice to the shake, that will just water it down (if the milk and ice cream are cold, your shake will be cold (I have never had an issue with my resipe...its naturally thick and creamy, chilled and no addition of a water product)...you could even chill the mamey also, and if you want the seed, cut in half to remove the seed then refrigerate the fruit)
Same recipe I use can be used with canistel (you can add nutmeg if you like for a neat twist, makes it taste similar to eggnog)
