Papaya Tree has them. Probably very good condition and not cheap.
I have 3 seedlings that I can share one if you want. They're not the good kind so you'll have to graft later.

Papaya Tree was selling a 2.5ft tall flowering Lucuma for $140... I was looking to get a Lucuma at Greenscene earlier this year. Luckily I got a Lucuma seedling for $10 from the CRFG stand at Greenscene in 2011.

When I got mine, it was about 1.5'-2' feet tall.  I got a seedling but I know that he has both seedlings and grafted Lucumas.  I guess it is all timing with regards to availibility.

Here is his website: http://encantofarms.com/poirier.html (http://encantofarms.com/poirier.html)

Here is his contact information:

Encantofarms is Jon Verdick's website. He has a page for Ben Porier. I hear good things about the Poriers but they bring really small plants to plant sales. Maybe there are larger ones if you visit them.

Which CRFG sale? I usually donates my seedlings for plant sales and the fruits they come from are the ones that feel like chalk. They're strictly for grafting.

I would definitely not go cheap here. Alex's old man, of Papaya Nursery, is a pioneer in the California Lucama ,in fact, if you go to the Fullerton Arboretum you will find his 30 year old Lucuma loaded with fruits. BTW, I'm not too fond of Lucuma it tast like Canistel which I can't stand.

Photos of Ben Porier's lucuma fruits from the other thread do show what look like the nice ones.

I don't know too much about his dad but Alex did say his dad was collecting some good varieties of these.

Thanx all for the info. I contacted Ben. He only has seedlings that are six to eight inches. No grafted ones available at the moment.

They don't take very long to produce. At the research station there is a tree that started to produce under 5 years and it was not the normal ones i have seen...the skin had a golden-green colour and very good text. and flavour 8)
