Cassabanana - Sicana Odorifera - allow to climb on wall?

I'm thinking of growing cassabanana by allowing it to climb on the side wall of my building.  Since it climbs by means of 4-parted tendrils equipped with adhesive discs that can adhere tightly to the smoothest surface:

Could someone guide me whether this is safe or will the vine damage the painting on the wall?  Something like this:



I don't have any place to install a trellis big enough to support this vine and also I don't want to smoother a tree.
