Degelman Longan

Can anyone tell me anything about this type?  I ended up with one, but information is scarce minus a table of varieties in Florida.

I have it spelled Daigleman.  Its a nice longan, consistent bearer, average sized fruit.  It is sweet but does not reach the level of See Chompoo or Biew Keow for overall eating quality. But, in my opinion, worth growing.

What is the history behind this longan?  I can't find any info on it.

I have no history to report.  I bought mine as a small air layer probably in 1994 or 1995.  I purchased it from Going Bananas in Homestead, FL.  You might check with Don Chafin, the owner to see if he can give you any background on it.

Thanks for the information.  I had seen the other spelling and wasn't sure which was correct.  I was just curious because I purchased an air layer which is doing pretty good and couldn't find much info.

Brian,

Would you mind sharing where you got your airlayer?
