Whatever the # is, its a great mango.

All 7 mangos i opened were polyembryonic.

What could be the the parent or is it another renamed variety?

The reviews I'm seeing by the FB people its sweet and watery nothing spectacular. One poster did note they had excessive amounts of rain and that could contribute to it being mediocre. If i see anyone give it positive review. I will make an update. Maybe Pual will make another video and say it's the best mango ever!!!.

This year's sunrise are thrash, the ones i had from last year were super duper good which a buddy from pine island sent to me. Since then it was one of my favorites.

Interesting your Coconut Cream mango tree died. I live near the coast too and my CC grows quite well. I constantly have to trim the tree to maintain form and control vigor. This issue I have will Coconut Cream is production or lack thereof. I have about 40% of the tree top worked to Seacrest which has grown well from a three-year graft and now has fruit on it. (See 1st photo)

Lemon zest has grown well for me. My five-year-old tree is now 9-10 feet tall. (See 2nd photo). Still no fruit yet but I am willing to give this variety more time but just in case I have already added Peach Cobbler and Cotton Candy grafts.

I've seen his trees in person & they are nice. It all goes down to the roots. What are medium are they growing in?

I have started to tweak my mix on mangoes more on builders sand this time. :) My Mangoes that are on 50% sand does thrive better as oppose to dirt mixed potting mix & potting mix.

Has anyone try to grow / taste Golden Lady?  I believe only Wong farm near palm desert sells this variety?

I bought a  Golden Lady tree from Wong Farm in 2019. According to them, it grafted on their own rootstock which they said proven to be superior than turpentine or manila rootstock.
It was not the case in my backyard. Despite of the extra care, this tree did not grow much in my backyard, kept struggling until it just died last year.
Maybe it depends on each person's yard and position of each tree. Weirdly in my yard, Florida turpentine rootstock does better than any other rootstocks including Manila and 'California superior rootstocks' I bought from local So-Cal nurseries.
The best grower and most reliable mango in my yard is Sugarloaf on turpentine rootstock. I bought it on eBay from a backyard grower in Florida.
Almost neglected, with just automatic drip system, the Sugarloaf grows beautifully and always gives me full size flawless fruits since the year I bought it. I thin it aggressively and only left 2-3 fruits each year since the tree is only 5 ft tall now from a 3 gallon on 2020.
OS on turpentine is super vigorous and productive, but the PM always heavy on this tree. OS fruit is delicious, but because of the PM, most fruitlets won't make it to maturity.

post photos of your trees. :)

I just tasted the Mark Anthony Mango. Who brought that? It’s really quite an interesting Mango. Can anybody tell me something about it?
There's two parts to this story. First how bovine saw this variety on a truly tropical YouTube video called the most enjoyable mango of the season. Thank you Audrey from Ocala figure out that it was in Osceola County  that he had resided in since 1987. After Alex from tropical Farms suggested that bovine join the Facebook group The mango Growers of America did it bovine realize after putting on a Sherlock Holmes hat that someone named Andy Baylis  lived on the other side of East lake Tahoe from him had the mother tree. After sending him a private message several years ago we are the best of friends. Here's the second part in the story approximately 20 years ago Andy a captain and the Jamaican Coast Guard moved to Osceola County implanted several Bombay mango seeds that he had brought with him. One in his mother-in-law's yard the other in his backyard which is the Mark Anthony named after his beloved brother who has passed on to Glory many years ago. This mango variety is fairly well known through Facebook community so much so that a cat named Mark down in Miami got a clone grafted tree and some fruit from Andy which he shared with Dr Campbell from homestead who apparently liked it so much that he is now propagating and selling the trees. Surprisingly he has not renamed it such as Kryptonite which is actually K3 Kathy creation of Gary Zill. He conveniently misspells the first name and uses a C instead of a K Marc instead of Mark. Which is a little misleading to the General Public in my opinion at least give proper credit and respect to the name and the men  who propagated this varieties. Thank you Gary zill for K3 Kathy and Andy Baysil for the Mark Anthony. My personal observations of this mango variety the Mark Anthony is that it can be picked a little early and shipped it has a long window of peak flavor which actually gets better like fine wine. Early and its peak can have a citrus Tangerine flavor then later on it's like a golden apple passion fruit flavor to me. The ones I brought to the tasting we're on the small side because they were the first to be ready to be picked off of the tree because it is still early here and 9B I personally haven't picked any of my mangoes yet other than Dwarf Hawaiian. Andy is more of a philanthropist then a pirate profiteer but he does take bright future donations. He and I do like to take road trips to try to find different seedling varieties that are unique. We had talked about visiting Pine Island before the recent hurricane because I had an invite by a forum member to visit his Fruit Stand. If Vince has this event again next year and if it fits into his schedule pretty sure I can persuade him to come socialize. What would really tickle him as if Vince or someone on this forum arranges in the future a mango seedling of known varieties tasting event. There are several out there that are known top of my head black Julie which is a Jamaican Blackie seedling pollinated by a Julie. Another one is Dolores. I've heard of several down in the Sebring area I'm sure there are many more

After reading this, & I heard tons of Haji Khan's varieties were brought here & were renamed (after a famous persons from Fl visited him).
Poor man did not get the credit he deserves.

Planted a 1 gallon late last year.

Growing painfully slow but Im not sure if thats due to the method of grafting used.

Growth habit is similar to julie.

You are talking about Zill 20-46, correct?

I have tried multiple pina colada & pineapple pleasure on Turpentine as well as on a manila seedling rootstock in my area (San Fernando Valley) the mature grafts die on me, however, not the rootstock. I do not know whats causing it, i guess they are susceptible to infection.

So I'm growing multiple pina colada seedlings which leaves are symmetrical to pina colada.

My seedlings took the winter like a champ.

If anyone in Socal are looking to grow these seedlings, i have them for sale.

Can anyone else confirm that Guava Mango is Polyembryonic? Here’s a seed from Guava mango and this seed look’s Polyembryonic to me because of the segmentation and the multiple root origins.

Guava is polyembryonic.

Im.currently growing a seedling, leaves are symmmetrical to guava & leaves smells like guava. Btw, guava variety is priyoor in India.

Coconut Cream seedling seed seems monoembryonic.

I had a few coconut cream fruit from last year that turned out to be poly.

It seems like people favor Maha, Sugarloaf, and Sweet Tart. I cannot find a nursery selling those in San Diego. I am afraid to buy them from nursery in Florida because my avocado tree I bought from nurseries in Florida died, not just one but 4.  :o
Some of nursery owners were very nice and sent me  replacements but  one of two replacement also died. No more from Florida for now. Avocado trees I bought from local nursery are doing well.
If anyone knows any nursery selling those  listed above mango trees in SoCal, please let me know.

best is to plant a seedling (polyembryonic variety) or you can order a requested graft https://www.tropicalacresfarms.com/.

Since inoculating beneficial microbes is essential for our soils.

Its also imperical to use filtered water while irrigating since our water nowadays are treated with chlorine & chloramine.

One of the best filters to use is Boogie Brew filters.

happy growing.
