polybags
« on: June 15, 2012, 12:35:37 AM »
Hi everyone,

i am looking for polybags suitable for fruit tree nursery business (deep enough to allow the developpement of a nice tap root). I can't find the proper design locally and i would need to place an order of 10,000 pieces so that the local manufacturay launch a bunch of bags for me. I am not big enough for that currently tha's why i am considering to get them from abroad.

Dimensions required:
- Volume from 6,5 to 7,5 liters
- Depth: 32 to 40 cm

Thanks for informations

Hi Samuel,

I use to buy polybags at the cooperative in São Martinho. Now the factory that produced them went down the drain.
Never seen them again for sale.

I found this site from Mexico.

Hope this is useful ;)

Steven,

it seems like they don't make the design i would need. Their bags are as wide as they are long. i would need something that is tall/thin.

Thanks anyway! I will continue my search

Try contacting them. They may have what you are looking for. What mil bag do you need?

Here is another possible source for polybags for trees: http://homeharvest.com/containergardenpotsplastic.htm
Scroll down to near the end of the page and you will see the polybags.

Here is another source: http://www.sunriseplastic.co.in/nursery-plastic-bags.htm

I hope the info helps.

Mil is the thickness of the plastic. It's one thousandth of an inch which is about 0.0254 millimeters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thou_%28length%29

Thanks for the infos Murahilin,

it seems like those 2 last companies you have mentioned should make it. I will get to them and will let you know.
