Hello Gang ;
Hope everyone is safe with minimal damage to your trees and properly.
My family and I been Driving for 2 days from NYC - Naples FL.
There Where times that we thought we where never going to make it home .
It was total Madness! From I-95 NY Thru Naples .
Gas was super scarce! All GA exits closed to Thru traffic .
We where lucky to find gas at every station that we stopped !
Ok we made it safe to Naples on Fumes no freakin gas anywhere in SF , there where some station with gas but the lines where hundreds of cars awaiting to gas up with police escort.
Ok once we pulled into our community we saw all the fallen trees , Missing roof tiles , pool cages all over the place , got a sick feeling in my stomach as we approached out home .
The 1st thing we noticed was my Plumeria trees where toppped over front of our home .
No big deal they have shallow roots , I restated them .
The structure to the front of my home was not compromised!
My Lanai in tact I even forgot to put away all my potted plants !.
Made my way to my mango trees expecting The worse, to my surprise they where not up rooted !
Yes they looked like they went thru hell and back ! .
But all in tact thank god ! .
My next door neighbors suffered lots of destruction, feel so bad for them ! There much older folks , I will be helping them tomorrow cleaning up ..
Here's some pics I just took .
Ps I feel like a total Zombie! Driving soooooo dam much ..

Awesome your trees made it. Was there a buffer protecting them? The heavy stuff was East Northeast at our place.

I'm glad you didn't suffer any substantial damage Ed !! Good luck for the recovery efforts.

Amazing, and yes Ed, you and Marley are very lucky. Watching this on the news has been gut wrenching cause I've been thru a lot of them and know how it is.
Marley, how did your place hold up?

This was my only damage to the house, I damaged patio lamp .
Oh and I used Velcro nursery Tape to secure my trees to the stakes.
Also I have Orogone Pyrimids on the base of all my trees , they didn't move an 1" During the 145MPH winds .

Lucky you! Your mango trees definitely don't look like they went through a hurricane!
I have never heard of Orogone pyramids, what purpose do they serve?
