Antidesma bunius on the lower left, black sapote behind that, in the middle is my ruby supreme guava and two surname cherries. i have a dragon fruit growing up the guava also.

some muscadines on my porch
 
this is my back yard, the trees are in 4'x4'x2' boxes because i have so little soil in my back yard.
there is, starting from left to right ant top down, hogplum, lychee, van dyke mango, longan, lara starfruit and unknown avacado

Here is some pics of my fruit trees
Ma'afala bread fruit and soursop

Star apple and sugarcane the seedlings in the pots in the front are kaffir limes
 
miracle fruit, Black pepper and assorted seedlings

bananas with Sumatran coffee growing under them, on the left is a peanut butter fruit, red custard apple, white sapote and loquats

top down shot of some mamey. one is from Lara nursery and has huge fruit, one is from a guy on krome ave, and the others are from seed.
also a seed grown fla avocado

plant them on the south side of the tree, they will get more light that way, but they should do fine they grow in trees down here in the keys.

the wild ones can range from tasting like dirt to berries. the fruit are small and purple and the inside is a deep purple black. one of my favorite wild eats.

scrubbing them under running water works too. when i was a kid we just picked the spines off and ate them, always ended up with spines in the mouth. The best tasting ones here have a berry flavor.

its a cactus fruit, here is the Wikipedia page on them, they are suppose  to be all over Sicily. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opuntia thereare a few good wild kinds here, not escapees, but native species that are really good.

Get directions from were you will be to Krome Ave, that's were i get my fruit when I'm up that way. Can't help you on whats ripe though.
There is also the fruit and spice park in the red lands which is awesome.

I know for a fact the jaboticaba is still alive. It's laying down, but it fruited this year.
I know there's an eggfruit, red hog plumb, soursop, lychee, a few awesome mangos, macadamia nut, 
bilimbi, Cacao, Avocado, Mamey, Starfruit, Rose Apple, Bay Rum, Samoan Bread Fruit, Sapodilla, Velvet Apple, and a grape vine that I can id

My wife has permission to go out there and I've gone out there with her a few times.
