This is my Maha Chanok in June of 2011 right after transplanting out of a three gallon pot.

This is the same tree less than three years later with 124 fruit on it.

I fertilize all but three months of the year by air, ground, water, and prune every tip, I took out a main scaffold branch this winter that was 2 1/2" diameter.  I also run my sprinklers very heavily to maintain my lawn, and mulch about once every three months. This tree produced from year one.

I only recently (5 months) switched to the Patrick program of a slew of chemicals monthly and, although I now wear a respirator during yard work, my trees have never grown so quickly nor looked so healthy.  I now glow in the dark but it is so worth it.

Great Job!!! Looks like your mix of fertilizers and nutrients are really paying off. I wish mangoes grow as fast here in SoCal.

Patrick! About as good as it gets!!!!
The water from your lawn sprinklers must be helping
So what is your foliar spray program these days?

Your dedicated culturing of this Maha Chanok shows people how to do more with less. Do more with fewer mango trees. 3-4 mango trees will cover most of the mango season to make most mango fanatics happy

You better get into the fruit selling business or the mango ice cream biz

Very nice PJ, looks like your daughter got sprayed with some too, she is growing!  You'll have to start growing tomacco next.

Believe it or not I still use the same mix of phyto-fos, Millers 20-20-20 foliar, SEQ138, CUpro, SO Ag Citrus Minor package, with Class ACT NG adjuvant.  I sometimes will hit them mid month with just a mix of Class ACT NG and SO Ags minors, but do this all year round, even in winter.  For the record I work 55+ hours a week and am a full time father of a seven year old daughter too! So no excuses... If you buy everything in bulk its not too expensive if you only have to buy the stuff once every five years.

Every time they discuss marijuana legalization on the news everyone I talk to asks me if I will be a grower.  I did grow when I was younger, smoked a hell of a lot too! But those days are far behind me now.. I will stick to tropical fruit... I am all for legalization though, to each his own!

Hmmmm.... I actually have those except for CuPro and Class ACT NG adjuvant.
I must start using using them on my lychee which is going nowhere fast and the younger trees and muscadines

haha you're gonna have a jungle there in no time.

With the rate that those things are growing, you should consider investing in a good hammermill chipper shredder. Mackissic makes a really nice one. http://www.mackissic.com/Hammermill%20Shredder-Chippers.html I have the chinese knock-off version, and it's lasted me 7 or 8 years and still runs. I might have to invest in a Mackissic here pretty soon though.

I wish I had your sandy soil.

Mahachanok grows fast, also the grafts of it that i have on my ndm tree.

I noticed that all mangotree's in the USA all look so clean, seems like there are no enemy's that ruin leaves.

This tree grew very well, mango's can use a lot of food and water. The professional mangogrowers use many kg of fertilizers on one tree a year, i never dared to try that but i guess they will have results like on these pics. This tree has so many mango's on the righthand side that it is about to snap.

Those tie-dye shirts that your daughter is wearing i have made/sold for many years, didn't know they were still in fashion. Actually the tshirts from this forum also should be tie-dye in nice green colors.

Don't give him any ideas. Well, it's been an hour so he's probably already ordered one online.

The only thing that stopped me was the acceptance size.. It looks like the lesser models can only handle 3/4" or smaller branches?

HAHAHAHAH! No, that's for the main chute. You put larger branches in the thing in the side. My cheap chinese knockoff can chip branches the size of my arm. Down the chute, I can toss 1 inchers in without a problem. That's probably the best homeowner chipper / shredder on the market. The hammermill is far superior to the ones that have knives. The knives will dull and break if you accidentally drop a rock down the chute. I once dropped my felco pruners down the chute. Didn't do much damage to the hammermill, but it obliterated my felcos.

haha you're gonna have a jungle there in no time.

Hopefully the heavy crop will slow down the growth
