The new leaves begin red in color.
Here you can see a little mangosteen planted right next to Seashore mangosteen:
I plan to approach graft them once they become a little bit bigger.

If the Mangosteens are imported from Thailand then the seeds are dead since they irradiate the fruit to kill any pests that might spread, I got some seeds from Puerto Rico that are starting to germinate

I'm currently growing mine in a greenhouse and it seems to to like since its pushing out new leaves

I agree with merce3 that the green stretchy tape is a bit tight.

« on: June 22, 2017, 09:08:15 PM »Your tree doesn't look too bad. The dropping of the fruit is normal, especially when the panicles are holding too much fruit. Sometimes smaller branches that are shaded out will naturally die back.It's never done this before it just started this year, my other mango tree is fine just this one is acting strange this year
