I have this and second unknown species of Clavija from Ecuador. They grow slowly, but are very atractive and suitable for greenhouse or indoor culture. Likes halfshade and lot of water. Dont know anything about fruits because my plants are only 2 or 3 ft tall and not reached the flowering size.

When this occured in asian persimons (kaki), on main trunk, plant survived but this year they forming new branches under the lesion. It is better to cut affected branch after the last freeze so the new branches will be stronger and longer.

I got them at the end of september. And here are the plants as were the next year at may.

I will definitely try Decaisnea this year, it seems to be very interesting for my growing zone. Problem is only with good seed source. I try several times to germinate them (stratified, without stratification) no one of big amount germinate Seed were probably very old or not properly stored.
Interesting info about Akebia Karen Seems that many of Lardizabaceae is not only unusuall but also healthy...

I have only Carissa macrocarpa, it fruits without problems. Some Apocynaceae may need special pollinators like moths. I dont know if it is the case of Carissa, but flowers have strong delicate scent like jasmine.

I have feichoas in greenhouse and they are very easy plants. Flowering period here is end of february and march, fruits rippen from september to october. From may to november I put them outside because they appreciate a lot of sun.

If I have garden in the tropics I will definitely try some unusuall spices like - Indonesian cinnamon, Chinese cinnamon, Amazonian cinnamon, African Pepper, Calabash Nutmeg, Indonesian Bay leaf. I try some of these here, but Im limited with greenhouse so difficult job but have succes with Black pepper, Allspice (very good spice), various cinnamons, vanilla, ginger, cardamon, pompon vanilla. Sichuan pepper grows very good outside but may be problematic in tropics. Also Sassafras, bay leaf, Californian bay leaf grow well here. For me best is Nikitas Gift (X) very cold hardy not too big but sweet fruits with rum flavor. Persimons with bigger fruits here - Buyu, Kaukaz, Buffalo Heart and Chong Pjong (Korean columnar variety) - all adstrigent.
I have about 15 varietes of Pawpaws, but the best is one seedling with very sweet fruits with light seeds and firm pulp with vanilla taste. Very good fruits are from Overleese and Pensylvania Golden 1 (it has taste like caramel)

Yeah! They'd make a beautiful tea. I would expect it to prefer a climate similar to that of the regular goji. Don't know if they are used fresh or in cereals like red goji.

They can withstand more drouhgt than regular goji. Very easy to keep plant... I havent an opportunity to taste them so I dont know. May be this year?

And perhaps in the future, topics about pouterias, about spondias, about other families will be cool, since it came out of the sameness.

The seeds, marked as Helicostylis are seeds of some Brosimum (may be alicastrum). I have seeds of Helicostylis tomentosa and they look like the seeds marked as Naucleopsis in your picture. They are abou 4 times smaller than that of Brosimum. I will take the picture from my young plants.
