Alphonsos in Aruba
« on: February 09, 2018, 04:47:43 PM »
Hey everybody,
I just wanted to report that my Aruban Alphonso tree produced about 50 fruit this year, and they were EXCELLENT. I know some people have struggled to get this varietal to yield tasty fruit in Florida. Maybe our dry conditions down here favor the Alphonso?
In other Alphonso news, here's a pretty cool article about attempts to import Indian mangoes to the States.

Cheers from the southern Caribbean,
HI

Was your Alphonso mango from imported seed from USA or India ? Curious to know the source/supplier

I honeymooned in Aruba ..love the place!

Yeah I would guess your arid conditions....and constant very strong sea breezes..would would be good for varieties that struggle with South Florida's extreme humidity.
