You are lucky, he sent me 4 seedlings that were all dead on arrival. Still waiting to hear how this will be resolved as i didnt order seedlings in the first place... He ran out of seeds and upgraded me without asking and now i just have dead plants...

Hello Dusten,

Sorry for delayed reply.
I 've just done a full refund to you despict the fact that you never sent me the asked pictures of the seedlings you said they arrived dead.
Also, i wanted to say that because i ran out of sprouted seeds, i've sent you 3 months old seedlings instead of just sprouted seeds for exactly the same price.
Seedlings have better chance to survive mail transit. Unfortunately it was not the case.
Shipping charge was more expensive than i've announced (seedlings are heavier than seeds) but i've not asked you to pay more...

After a month (normal mail delivery time with that damned covid crisis), seeds arrived in a perfect shape, already sprouted.
Danny do a great job in packing and sending seeds !
I can't wait to taste that fruit.

Fusaea longifolia  is this plant Monoecious?

Cyphomandra endopogon and Chrysophyllum sanguinolentum ssp. sanguinolentum added

Platonia insignis is Monoecious?
Yes, a single tree will fruit, but each tree fruit only every 2 years !

Today i was lucky to find another Bakuri tree :P

I've spent almost 2 hours under the tree to eat all the fruits i was able to find on the ground.
I couldn't get enough, this fruit is stunning !

Also i met another Sapotaceae member : Chrysophyllum sanguinolentum ssp sanguinolentum

The skin is thick and hard, but the flesh surrounding the seeds is delightful.
Tree is large, at least 20 meters tall.
Monkeys eat this fruit like mad and it is hard to find unopenned fruits.
I've collected some seeds for trade or sale.

Last find is Cyphomandra endopogon subsp. guianensis :

A tree tomato relative.
Fruits are very acidic but taste is very nice, i will try juice !

Hello everybody,

I saw i have several email awaiting. I will reply soon !
Also i wanted to inform that Cupui orders are a bit delayed as those seeds take more time to sprout than Cupuassu.
I will start to ship several Cupui orders on this week.

62
It could be a Poueria kappsii.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just found this another baby, Abiu like with very fibrous pericarp.
Taste not too bad but almost nothing to eat.
Only one fruit on the tree, i will have to wait next year for more !

Richard that is an exciting find and great description of the fruit. Maybe it is closely related or even a form of Pouteria ramiflora which is known from further to the south in Brazil and appreciated for its 5cm green pear shaped fruit.
Thanx for the input Mike.
I find that it seems rather very close to Pouteria bilocularis but it is not that.
I still continue to identify it.

66
Yes, belonging to a family known for its edible fruits such as pouteria is decisive.
Otherwise, for other species, the fruits eaten by monkeys or which attract ants are almost always edible.
Until now, an unknown fruit has never made me sick, but I remain cautious, in case of little doubt I abstain.
However, finding fruit in the middle of the forest is not at all a perilous or dangerous task in my opinion, and I consider myself particularly lucky to be able to do so.
If it were up to me, I would spend a lot more time in the woods than in the city where I feel much more threatened.

67
Yes, there are still some Pouteria sp. and subsp. that are waiting to be described and nammed.
It is clearly improbable that the Pouteria present in the Guianas are limited to the thirty species described, many remain to be found.

Hello to all,

I've found this super exciting fruit in the Guiana's primary forest.

Tree is 20 meters tall, and produce 2 to 5 cm long yellow pear shaped fruits.
Fruit skin is thin and soft like Abiu but no latex.

Almost all fruits are single seeded (1- 1,5 cm long), few larger fruits contains 2 to 3 seeds.
Pulp is translucid, very sweet and aromatic, i found it better than all Abiu i've tasted.

Despite its smaller size, pulp ratio is great.
Unfortunately, lot of fruits were worms attacked.
I will definitely grow it in my backyard !
I've done several research to ID it but nothing.
Its a Sapotaceae, probably a Pouteria member but all Pouteria ID keys i've tried does not match.
If someone have a clue, it would be great !

Mouth watering pics Mike !
I hope to taste these new varieties one day.
Even if I am well aware of not knowing the elite of passion fruit, i allow myself to say that P. nitida is a fruit that will probably bring great added value to the Passiflora fruit family once its wide dissemination will be effective.
This species has great genetic variation, both in size and flavor. To my knowledge, no named variety yet, but the potential for breeding is vast.
P. nitida (called Kavunma by the natives) is without any doubt a winner.

Diospyros cayennensis added

Do these come up true to seed and how long do they take to fruit?

Yes, true to seed.
Cupuassu and Cupui take 3 to 4 years to fruit from seed (under tropical climate).
