Maha and Heidi finally
« on: September 10, 2015, 03:14:00 PM »
I guess down in the very south of California near the ocean our mangos come in last as far as ripening.

These two just started to soften on the tree so I yanked them. It is my first Maha, so not sure what the color should be for optimum tasting. The Heidi should be good in a few days.

Are my eyes tricking me, Mark, but it looks like the back half
of both mangoes is green!

My Maha got real colorful at ripening - the pinkish blush was there
with the yellow.  But they both look really healthy....

Please report back.....Gary

The Heidi is half green, it didn't get sun on one side. The Maha has a tiny green area but has that blush also.

Hi Mark, if the Maha smells good, then I would eat it now before it got too soft. I waited mine until it's soft to the touch but when cut open and found  too soft inside.
