I am from El Salvador and grew up eating them. I wish I could help because I am looking to get seeds so I could grow it here in Phoenix. I currently have a smaller version of that family doing well, so I think I could make it grow as well.
Please let me know if you find out and if you find a place that sells them in the states. :)

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Looking for Crystal Guava scion wood
« on: February 24, 2021, 08:38:27 AM »
I will like to graft my white guava and I am curious about the crystal variety. Also, if someone knows the name of a guava that in El Salvador is called "Guayaba Perulera" (because of its pear shape) I would also love some scion wood. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the cutting, they arrived in great shape, now wish me luck! :)

What does the tree fruit looks like?
I live in Phoenix AZ and have a 7 year old tree that its taller than my house but never fruited and the leaves also look different from yours. I got the seedling from a local tropical fruit plant sale. :(

They look nice and red, but are still hard and crunchy.

Nice, thanks, they look  like the ones from El Salvador, except a bit smaller.

Can you post a picture of the tree and fruit?
I am from El Salvador and want to see if its similar to that one. :)

Thanks for the information Shiro and Fleep.
I was able to get some scion wood in a local scion wood exchange and 3 of them took, So now I am hopeful that next year the production will be better. If not, I am hopeful that as the tree matures it will be more productive. :)

Thank you Carolyn; The problem I have is that I don't have enough room for another tree. :( That is why I need the scion wood only. Maybe I have to buy the tree and give it away to later on harvest the scion wood. :)

Temperate Fruit Buy, Sell, & Trade / Comice Pear
« on: December 03, 2019, 12:24:52 PM »
Hi, I have a Comice pear in my back yard. The tree is about 6 years old and even though it blooms profusely it doesn't fruit. I just found out that it needs a pollinator, so I was thinking on getting scion wood to graft into it to hopefully get it to bloom. My question is. Does any one have any recommendations of what particular scion wood to get and where can I buy it? Thanks in advance!
