I want to grow it in a container. What do you think, what volume to use for cultivation?

Growing in a pot might be a bit of a challenge this vine is massive I have a 2 year old female vine that is 6 inch thick supposed to reach 100 feet long.Telfairia pedata is much more aggressive growing than Telfairia occidentalis which I am growing now,and have fruited.

The sizes are impressive! I have plastic barrels of 200 liters, maybe I'll try this. In my collection was Telfairia occidentalis from Cameroon, I lost a plant, I'm going to try again.

I think I saw that this vine will grow in zone 10 and up. What's the likelihood that if it is exposed to a few hours of hard freeze it will regenerate from the roots? It seems that it would have a huge root system. Thanks, D

Yes zone 10 or higher,Telfairia occidentalis seems more cold sensitive than Telfairia pedata. Other problems are nematodes.I don't( think) it would survive a freeze to the ground most likely rot would set in.

Telfairia pedata set three fruits I didn't think I had a male vine. Two vines one large female the other quarter the size .

I treated the seeds with GA3, after 10 days they sprouted. Now it looks like this.

I have not yet made a final decision on how to grow it. For starters, I'll try 12 liter plastic pots.
I have 20 seeds left. I am ready to exchange them for something else. I am interested in Cocoa, Duguetiya, Durians, Macadamia and much more.
