How to clean Santol Seeds for planting?

I got seeds in the mail from Thailand and they still have pulp clinging. How should I clean them without damaging anything?

I scraped the flesh off once dry and then I cut the sharp end of the seed coat off and soaked the seeds for a bit, planted them, and 100% germinated within 3 weeks.

They should be rubbed and rinsed through a colander and dried for about a day in the shade.The slime becomes pretty inert even when rehydrated but don.t over dry

There's a shell on them right? can I take the shell off?

I didn't take it all off, I just snipped a good portion of the sharp point off until there was a visible hole going to the true seed. When fresh they sprout really quickly.

I just took the whole coat off w/o disturbing the embryo. (Since I saw some photos online with the seed coat removed) Thanks for the response!

Don't take the seed coat off.

I don't think I would over clean them.  We have good germination from simply planting the seeds with the pulp on them.

They make great house plants. I grew one for 7,8, years or so in the house. Big pleated leaves,dark green. One problem you might have is thrips. Mine was totally pest free for years..then tiny black thrips showed up. I finally had to break down and use systemic poison. But it worked perfect.
I planted it out in spring..doing fair. Some new small leafs. That's another story.
