It's mutingia calabura. Yes it's edible and very good.

This is a Panama berry, also called Jamaican cherry tree. They are delicious.

Its actually Muntingia calabura (spelling correction from above) and also goes by Strawberry Tree. Fruit taste like cotton candy.
