yes I will be shipping out some more next week!

I will start sending out invoices again in the next few days.

Because this batch of pineapples is a bit smaller, I will be selling them for a slightly cheaper price.

I've also updated my price list on the website...so a few items have become available recently.

I should hopefully have some Garcinia acuminata seeds for sale soon!

Hey Fox Man, what's the difference between the Paulista and Sabara jabos?

The Paulista is one of several varieties of  the actual  species M. cauliflora, the fruits and leaves are quite large...this plant is also rare in the USA.

the Sabara is the most common variety of jaboticaba in the world (everyone in the USA has this just about) the correct species name is M. jaboticaba.

the Sabara is an excellent fruit, and this variety of jaboticaba tolerates a wide range of soil conditions...hence it's wide spread status in Brazil, and the rest of the world.   Its the quintessential jaboticaba!

Paulista is what we used to call, in pre-Lorenzi days, the large leafed jaboticaba. It's not so rare here. It produces very large fruits, but it is not nearly as productive as sabara, which used to be called here the small leafed jaboticaba. That used to be our whole jaboticaba world here: small leafed and large leafed. Funny because this small world situation was the same in Australia, except for them the large leafed was the Grimal jaboticaba (M. spirtio-santensis).

Ahhh ok. Yah, I've seen the large leafed jabos before. They're really pretty. Thanks for the explanation.

If it flowers this season , then i will wait after it fruits to do some selective prunning.
i would like to keep it at 8ft Max if possible in a 25 Gal pot.
Next winter once the frost hits, i would have to lay it down inside the GH, untill the weather clears.

That is the Plan for now, if i sell the house then South FL we come ! ;).

Adam:
Just wanted to thank you publicly for your well packaged jades that I received this week. They were very healthy looking and your "bonus" was well appreciated. Great business and will be doing more in the future.
Hope to actually make it back up to see you this summer and your new nursery.
Many thanks,
Keith

Thanks!

I can actually ship certain plants to CA and TX now, as stock dealer of certified plants.

Right now I only have white jade pineapples for sale, but I should have some other stuff soon!

Hi Adam,

What fruit trees can you ship?

Thanks,

I can only ship plants from other nurseries in FL, who are certified to ship to CA (TX,AZ, LA).

Right now the only thing I'm offering is the White Jade Pineapples...but I should be able to buy and resell some stuff from other FL nurseries.  It just might take me a while to make the trip down to South FL to get the trees... we will probably head down to Zill's and Pine Island Nursery about every 2-4 weeks...I'm not sure exactly what they have certified to be able to ship out to CA though

here is a link to the list of all of the nurseries who produce plants that can be shipped to CA, TX, AZ and LA.

http://www.freshfromflorida.com/Divisions-Offices/Plant-Industry/Business-Services/Registrations-and-Certifications/Nematode-Certification/Type-III-Nematode-Certified-Nurseries-by-Name

if you click the link for the nursery name, it will show you all of the plants they're offering, that are certified free of nematodes.

Don't know how it works in FL, but here the nematode certificate is only for the nursery to which it was issued, can't ship plants with that certificate unless you are that nursery. Makes sense because once out of that nursery's hands who is to say if the plants are properly protected from nematodes?

Oscar,

In my situation, I have to ship the plants immediately after picking them up from the nursery...or in certain cases, nurseries will do me a favor, and hold onto the stock in their facility until I'm ready to ship.  This way the stock isn't commingled with plants that aren't certified.

My customer, that is a nursery, ships from south Florida to Texas plants that they buy from other nurseries every day.  There is a form for that.  I wrote the program that generates the list of plants and nursery that they were brokered from for all orders on the truck.  It prints on the numbered, preprinted form from Florida Dept of Ag.  It is called a "CONSOLIDATION DECLARATION FOR FLORIDA NURSERY STOCK DESTINED TO TEXAS OR LOUISIANA".  It states, "This is to certify that the nursery stock material in this shipment has been examined within the past year and found to be apparently free of the burrowing nematode and meets the requirements for Texas Quarantine 4TAC, Chapter P., Diaprepes root weevil."

Don't know how it works in FL, but here the nematode certificate is only for the nursery to which it was issued, can't ship plants with that certificate unless you are that nursery. Makes sense because once out of that nursery's hands who is to say if the plants are properly protected from nematodes?
