Kratom is a semi addictive sedative and pain reliever similar to opiates. I think it is hard to propergate from seed and is not a food plant as far as I know. The bitter leaf powder is consumed but I advise you carefully research dosage as iv heard it can be rather potent. I would live to have this plant but impossible to get here:(

Illegal in Thailand I think but ironically indigenous there too.

its almost impossible to grow from seed
unless the seed is gotten daily. - same day as you plant it.

i had a 5ft tall plant. i even air-layered it and traded some nice plants.
it died last winter when it hit 34F.
before i finished my greenouse

you would need a couple of 30Ft tall trees to get even weekly leaf (IMO)
and then the potency is completely unknown outside its territory (maylay etc..)
