Are these starfruit seedlings?
« on: October 27, 2018, 11:13:11 PM »
I just noticed these growing beneath my neighbor's starfruit tree:

I think they kind of look like starfruit trees, and the seed that's still attached to one of them kind of has the same dimensions as a starfruit seed. What do you think?

Sorry. Those are not starfruit seedlings (carambola).

No where to plant it ...but at least I got it. ;)

Nope, starfruit leaves don't have serrated edges, like in your photo.

Too bad. I was hoping that would save me the work of trying to get seeds to germinate... Thanks for saving me the work of tending for weeds. ;)

starfruit seeds are small. You can see the larger seeds on the sprouts you pulled up. Looks like little oak seedlings to me

When I'd gone to plant the weeds, I noticed something sprouting the the pot I planted starfruit seeds in. Fingers crosssed this one actually is a starfruit seedling. :P

That looks more likely to be starfruit as the embryo is same shape as is the seed, kind of a crescent shape.

That seedling is growing pretty good now, and there's another one too. I'm pretty sure these are starfruit seedlings. What do you think?
