Bonetes (Jacaratia Mexicana)
« on: August 05, 2018, 04:11:37 PM »
After all these years finally was able to get my hands on a ripe bonete, I'm very satisfied with the results of my haunting, very elusive endangered tree in my area, I was able to get these fruits only because the husband of the lady who helps clean the house spotted a tree close to his work place and yesterday show up with 4 fruits, the taste is subtle but yet delicious, I would say a delicatessen, is like a creamy mousse with a delicate flavor I can't compare to anything I know, easy likeable could say, I ate 3 of them one after another and only left one half for wifey, this can also be eaten green as a vegetable or eat the roasted seeds according to a guy on internet who claims they taste like bacon, needless to say I wasn't brave enough to roast those precious seeds..
