Title: Do I need to get rid of this mango tree?

I have this almost 2-years-old Rapoza mango tree that has been extremely healthy until recently that it started to bleed from the trunk and one stem. I did a research and it seems to be Gummosis. Can the mango experts here please take a look at the pics and let me know whether I'm right? If the tree is being afected by Gummosis, is it possible to cure the tree or should I just get rid of it in order not to spread the bacteria?

I removed it off my tree trunk, mine was bad 2 inch across and 4 inch tall, I scraped off the entire bark, sprayed it with fungicide. Then I sprayed the entire tree with boron and copper mix, and abound fungicide.  The trunk issue is resolved. but gummosis continues to show here or there. It appears that as time passes trees grow out of it. definitely cut the top branches off if you see it.

mangos bleed often but not citrus gummosis some trees deficient in copper will do that accompanied with classic s shaped growth.

Well, I had to remove a big chunk of bark to get rid of the whole infected area. Not sure how this tree will heal now, will it be affected for the rest of its life? - if it survives.

Mangoes heal fine, bark will grow back up. you got nothing to lose, give it few months

That cultivar does bleed I have large trees  ,and it also has soft wood large 4inch branches can shear from crop load and its not from weak inclulded bark. mangos wounds callus quickly don't over fert.

Gummosis can be a sign of copper deficiency, which seeing as you're in weston and presumably have soil with high organic content, could be a plausible explanation. Give it a good micronutrient package with copper.

Are you talking about foliar spray or soil drench or both?  Also, any specific product you recommend?

Foliar would be good. I've been using Nordox. You could probably just get a copper sulfate product though.

Hi Jeff, I was in tamarac and I saw this house surrounded by mango trees - it was # 1708 or something like that, I may be wrong. Is that your house? Also, wanted to let you know that I was using that Diamond fertilizer and I noticed that it doesn't contain copper - if you know anyone who wants a 50 lbs bag, please let me know. Thx!

Also pull back the soil that has risen up against the trunk.   You should be able to see the top of the first root on each side of the trunk.
