This bushy tree has hundred, maybe thousands, of fruits on it right now. Very happy camper! Unusual also that it is fruiting and flowering at same time.

When ripe they will turn same color as blueberry. None in the photo i posted are fully ripe. BTW you can eat them before fully ripe, when red, just a bit tarter.

Can you post photos of the tree, and of a fruit cut in half?

As you can see, it's more of a bush than a tree:

Some ripe phalsa fruits:

Here is a photo comparing phalsa on left with blueberry on right:

Comparing tastes of the 2: blueberry was blander, i found the phalsa to have more interesting zesty taste. Advantage of the blueberry is the smaller seeds. The phalsa has usually one, sometimes 2 bb sized seeds in it. Two large and hard to eat the seeds. Have to be spit out.

nice Oscar.

I like the taste of phalsa, and that it's versatile...you can eat them at several different stages....early, ripe, and extra ripe (wrinkled)

I like all stages of fruit ripeness...

these are healthy too!!!

definitely a great bush for those who want a cold hearty and prolific fruit to tree.

Don't know about cold tolerance of Grewia asiatica. CRFG fruit cultural data lists the kill temperature of Grewia tenax: 32F (0C).

Yes true from seed. Fruiting starts usually in 2-3 years.
