Title: Kumquats
Post by: Millet on June 27, 2017, 10:17:32 PM
Once kumquats are turned into a jam or a sauce, they go exceptionally well with vanilla ice cream or as a filling in vanilla cake. The flavor comes from the essential oils in the rind, and it’s very healthy – I recommend you pop two in your mouth after breakfast each morning. It also goes really well with gin, although perhaps not straight after breakfast!”

Sounds good. I just eat my Meiwa out of hand, but the jam/sauce for ice cream sounds good; like an orange swirl or orange "Julius " drink. Maybe put kumquat in a smoothie or milkshake!

I've got a friend who makes an excellent kumquat marmalade.  I haven't tried it with vanilla ice cream but it should be great.

Kumquat marmalade works great as a glaze for salmon or pork
