Anyone with knowledge of nhãn "bốn mùa" (four-season longan)? Supposedly it flowers and fruits year round. I found this on face book.

May I ask if you're able to provide more info regarding that facebook link?

In Vietnam longan is cultivated very widely thus there are many trees produce fruits off-season, all year round hence the local name "nhãn bốn mùa". Those fruits can be sold with higher price. I believe it is just normal longan (Dimocarpus longan).

Look out for Longan Lada, it's known for fruiting 3/4 times a year in tropical weather....

I bought one from ong nursery a few years ago with flower but never set fruit. It even have not bloomed at all after that. I have no idea if it actually four - season as its name.

I have 5 longan trees in my garden.
1. Normal brown skin from Central Thailand - fruit 1 time per year - 3 years from grafted tree.
2. Pink skin (Similar to Ping Pong longan but with pink skin instead of brown) from Central Thailand - fruit 3-4 times per year - 1 year from grafted tree.
3. White skin from Vietnam - fruit 3-4 times per year - 3 months from grafted tree. (Maybe this one?)
4. Red skin from Indonesia - fruit 2 times per year - 3 months from grafted tree.

Hi,

Do you have seeds from the white skin longan from Vietnam or Pink skin from central Thailand to sell?

Thanks!

Not now, pink skin fruits have just been finished, should be flower again in a few month. White skin one is flowering right now.

I tried to find if there are any fruits sell anywhere for you but couldn't find. These 2 longans are still quite rare in Thailand.

Depends on how you compare.lada is a shy bearer and doesn't produce much fruits.but it has small seeds unlike diamond river.i think diamond river is smaller seeds than ping pong.ping pong has very big seeds and thin arils

Congrats!  Member (Dragon) said her longan bought from Ong Nursery only flower once, but never set fruits.
