Millet, mtl stands for Montreal, a city on the east coast of Canada where I came from! The main language there is French which explains by poor English.

Do you know the reason why it’s safe to use the hort oil on fruits but not on flowers? Is it because it will prevent fruit set?

Millet, I have some flower buds that are starting to open. If I understand correctly I will need to wait for them to develop small fruitlets before I can spray the horticultural oil right?
Also, I bought the concentrate version. Can I mix it in advance and store it for a couple days?

Thank you daytripper for your answer. I forgot to mention that my lemon tree has flower buds and some fruits. Does it matter? Thank you

Hi everyone,
I have some issues with spider mites on my lemon tree. Is it safe to apply horticultural oil to kill the pests? I am a little bit worried because someone at Home Depot said that it will kill my tree. Outdoor temperature is around 80F and I will put my tree under shade for a couple of days to protect it from sunburn. The brand is Green Earth.
If it’s not safe, I could use another product called End All. Which product is more effective against mites? I don’t have access to neem oil because I live in Canada.

Thank you

Hi Millet,
Thank you so much for your answer. Do you know if it’s prone to decline after 10 years?

Hi everyone,
I have a shiranui grafted on cleopatra. Is it a good combination? I read somewhere that trees grafted on this particular rootstock will slowly decline after ten years. Is it true?

Hi Snek,
About tmy meyer lemon, I got a few suggestion from different persons. Some said is oedema, some said a kind of fingus. I tried to water and fertilize less in case it's oedema but the situation didn't improve. I tried different fungicide and didn't see any improvement. Like yours, my meyer carried the symptom on older leaves and limbs and shred a lot of those infected leaves. Finally, I sprayed it with a product called "end all" and the shredding stopped. Do you think that it's spme kind of mites?

Snek, your trees are spectacular. What amaze me it's the proportion between the tree size and the container. I always thought that to have trees that big the container ahould be lot bigger. Do you root prune these trees? If yes, how do you proceed? Thank you so much for the information

I already tried to spray my tree with a fungicide a few weeks ago. Should I spray it another time?
Thank you for all your help

Hi everyone,
some leaves on my meyer lemon have develop some yellow patches on the. What do you think could be the reason?
Here are some background:
- I live in montreal canada where we had a very wet and cold summer this year.
- I only water my tree when the top is drying and give some fertilizer once a week (dynagro foliage 9-3-6).
- It had been outdoor all summer and Have been indoor this week because the temperature is going down to 40F.
Where are some pictures

I have inspected the tree and didn t see any bugs. By precaution, I spray my tree with a insecticide soap.
Thank you for your hep

Hi all,
I read Millet's wonderful review on the Valentine review and I am very tempted to acquire one. Woul it be possible to fruit this variery considering that I live on the east coast of Canada and don't have a greenhouse? It will be in a container and bring inside for winter.
Thank you for helping me
