Hi everyone,
I also search for it.. also known as the Blushwood tree or Fontainea pancheri. Native to New Caledonia and Queensland, Austalia. I look foreward to buying fresh seeds, if somebody has them or knows a website selling them.

Thank you in advanced,
Max

Its not a very common tree in Australia and since the discovery of its cancer curing properties most known trees locations are kept secret and the trees are watched over.

They are confined to upland rainforest in my local area and are even very hard to find there.I would be surprised if the same species is also in New Caledonia.

Oh, that is new to me. I knew that some cancer healing experiments with animals were successful, however I didn't know that trees are watched over and kept secret... Nevertheless thank you very much for support, druss.

Hi Mike,
I read this at http://tropical.theferns.info/viewtropical.php?id=Fontainea+pancheri
however I am not shure whether it is the same as Hylandia dockrillii...

Thanks for support,
Max

They are not watched over but are in national park/world heritage area spread over nearly 200km on the upper part of a number of mountain ranges. You are not allowed to collect seeds in this area without a difficult to obtain permit.

I was referring to rangers as opposed to security guards as such.

I have a Fontainea picrosperma in the front yard I have had for a few years (purchased as a small plant from Yuruga), very slow growing...maybe in the wrong area, yet to flower.

Hylandia dockrillii is not the same as fontainea picrosperma in appearance - at all. Dockrillii has a darker, furry appearance and a round seed. Fontainea has a dark blushing red fruit and a star shaped seed. Dockrillii doesn't fruit to a schedule, Fontainea fruits around January. Lots of the fontaineas grow in unprotected areas. I have been cultivating them from seed for several years now with good results. I will soon be offering my plants for sale on the market.
