Citrus General Discussion / Last year for my xie shan
« on: April 05, 2017, 06:38:49 AM »
Large, puffy, grandular, dry fruit that's what I get off my xie shan. Planted 4 years ago along with brown select, miho, okitsu and owari,  all in ground and all received the same treatment and fertilizer. Great fruit from all but the xie shan, I am not going to fertilizer the xie shan this year and see if that helps, if not it's going to the burn pile. Would not recommend the xie shan.

Citrus General Discussion / Kishus
« on: March 30, 2017, 01:09:08 AM »
I have read so many good things about the seedless kishu but never having tasted one, I found some online in California and ordered a box, quite  expensive by  the way, well they live up to all the hype . BEST piece of fruit I have ever had. Didn't find a seed in the entire box, so very easy to peel with a acid to sweet balance that is perfect, nice rich complex flavor,  much better then the clementine, my question is why are they not available in grocery stores? Seems to me that the commercial growers would jump all over this fruit.

Citrus General Discussion / Artic frost or orange frost.

I'm trying to decide which of these two to purchase. Artic frost or Orange frost. Anyone having knowledge of the fruit, your opinion would be very helpful in my decision.  I prefer the sweetest and most seedless of the two.

I have read a lot of good things about the Nadorcott, folks seem to love them. Seems they are widely grown in South America and South Africa, can anyone give their opinion on them also are the trees available in the U.S.A.
