Citrus General Discussion / Re: Rooting Cuttings Without Leaves?

> ... Trifoliate orange, ... root well in 30-45 days,
Well, now we know that it is true only if you take the twigs on an immature plant.

And only in June and July with the highest probability. Mature twigs also root, but it takes longer and percentage is very low. Tested.

When you speak of maturity, do you mean fruiting age or green v. aged wood?

Four Winds carried it until recently and the CCPP still has budwood. I have a young, newly grafted tree, but it will be some time before it’s ready to be pruned.

Lol Millet, my husband and I are planning a trip to Amalfi in the next year or so. I want to visit Tintori and Agrumi Lenzi before we leave, but it may be too hard...😂

Citrus General Discussion / Old Grafting Scars: What should I do?
« on: May 23, 2019, 06:59:36 AM »
Hey guys, me again with another question: I have a small tree that I grafted last fall, with a scar from a previously failed graft. I have been watching the scar, hoping it would heal up, but it hasn’t changed, other than hardening. Yesterday, I noticed gummy sap accumulating at the top of the scar. Now that I know what I’m doing (mostly lol), I will be grafting this species to another rootstock (without scars lol) once it gets big enough. Is there anything I should do to protect the wound and encourage healing? I’ve thought about re-wrapping the area. Thanks for your time!

I know this is a stupid question, but does the ACP feed on vegetation other than citrus?

I tried the Orri today and have to say it is the absolute best tasting mandarin I’ve ever had. I know they’re patented, but would love to have this tree.

I also have Bearss Lemon budwood available as well

Hey TFN, mine is in a container - purchased from FWG last February as an entry tree. It produced blooms last year and again this year. As of right now, it’s growing out instead of up. I would be happy to send you some sticks if you’d like them - just PM me your address :)

45
I will be pruning my Santa Teresa Femminello Lemon soon if anyone in Georgia would like some budwood.

If you are not a resident of CA, you can contact the USDA National Repository and they may send you budwood for free. To my experience, they send it in the fall, around September or October. The contact information can be found on the CCPP main page.
