Coconut flavored mango
« on: May 03, 2019, 11:08:48 AM »
Hi,
Anyone know of a coconut flavored mango that will fruit
well in a rainy humid climate? It rains like at least 2x a week
here.  For example, Haden does not fruit well in my area.  Thanks.

Coconut Cream seems to do well in Florida.

Maybe one of the newer coconut-flavored mangos beats Pickering in taste, but nothing beats the tree--small, compact, clean, beautiful!  Try it out.

Sugar Loaf/E4 is another coconut flavor variety, supposedly one of the best. As it is newer, might be too soon to know much about its reliability, growth habit, and disease resistance.

My coconut cream mangoes taste better than my pickering, with that said it can not compete with consistent production, and easy to manage size. My CC has thrown branches in all directions, one even straight down to the ground. Pickering looks like a big mango bush about 7 ft tall. Pickering has a decent coconut flavor.  Have had no issues with my pickering regarding anthracnose or PM.
