as of today, here is the Plinia rivularis in a 15 gal container.

Congrats for your tree, it is beautiful

I see it so similar to my -supposed- myrciaria cauliflora (paulista)! I will take photos now... here they are...

why would they be so similar (similar cold hardiness?)? ok, I know they are all myrciarias, but my other myrciarias have very different look, even the new growth is not red, for instance these others from Paraguay (you said they are similar to peluda do alagoas):

By the by, as I was ransacking the internets to figure out what my plant was, I found an old RFCI Australia fact sheet on the native fruits of Brazil--from 1991!

It has Plinia Rivularis on it as well as common Jaboticaba, but not Cambuca or any of the other relatives of Jaboticabas.  Also a couple of other fruits that are obscure today.  I thought this was very weird when I found it.

now approx 4yr old?  maybe 6ft tall by 6ft wide, in a 30 gal pot....the trunk caliper is 2 inch or more?  still no signs of the bark exfoliating!?!

no blooms yet either...I thought some were coming, but it was wishful thinking...

I think I've been keeping mine a bit too moist, from the brown edges that developed on the first pair of leaves.

A year later and putting on some nice growth. I'm hoping it's beyond the leaf browning issue.

I think Adam (Flying Fox Fruits) has. I seem to remember a video he posted mentioning his rivularis plants. I could be mistaken; he has a lot of plants and has posted a lot of videos about them.

Unfortunately, my plants are still too small. They are several years away from fruiting.

yeah, he posted a video a few months back. I think he only got one or two fruits from it. i think he may have deleted the video as i cant seem to find it.
