you don't need to bring anything. Just go and get something from there. There's plenty of extras each year.

This is not a free for all. Fang is a young man who is a member of 20 local chapters! This is a public event open to people who perhaps are interested in joining the Orange County CRFG or their local chapters. I have been informed by the Chair there is NO cover charge and everyone is welcome.

JF,

I am not familiar with Radhika, Mohen, Ma'alina,or Madhur varieties. Are these cherimoyas or atemoyas? Any descriptions of taste or other qualities that you could share? Thanks.

Mangomike

These are new varieties from our friend Ashok. He will be testing them for the next few years. Here are links you can refer to.

I see, I didn't meant it was free. I just quoted what his answer was, from a similar question asked earlier.  Hope I didn't give off the wrong impression to anyone, who read my post. For, that I apologized, if others may have misinterpreted it. Thanks JF, for clearing it up :)

No offense taken...I just wanted to clarify. The objected of the scion exchange is to get people started and motivated.

Btw, I will come out with a list of the Annona scions later and we will have Behl's
cherimoyas and budwood but very limited. Hope to see you there.

I'll bring some of Behl's cherimoya scion wood to supplement what JF will bring.  I have 2 grafts I did last March that branched out nicely.

Have fun at the exchange, guys. Just out of curiosity, after you get the scions, do you graft them right away, or do you keep them in the fridge until Spring to graft? I remember reading a thread in 2012 by JF that he grafted his Cherimoyas on April 3rd.

Hi NCH

You can graft cherimoyas year round in SoCal but chances of a take improve significantly during the spring. You can put them in the fridge and wait until March or graft them now. Hope to see you at the cherimoya tasting at SCREC.

Thx JF. It was on a 1gallon pot with heavy soil when I receive it, it has  a lot of dead roots, I repotted it to a 3 gallon with perlite and potting mix. I will graft it when it starts to pushing new growth. Hope to pick up a cheroya scion tomorrow. Thanks again and see you guys tomorrow.

I never found out if Mr Minh is the same place my mom went and got her Vietnam and Australian atemoya trees. The front yard had chain fence around all the trees and the ground was covered in 1ft square bricks. They tie some branches over to cover areas of empty space so it's not wasted.
Does Mr Minh speak English and does he have a wife? My mom was speaking with the old woman in Vietnamese the entire visit and bought a bag of the blue fertilizer from her. She said her husband was a collector and the one she's selling is a wild one he collected from Vietnam.
