Pepino Dulce cuttings & plants
« on: April 19, 2020, 08:48:19 PM »
Pepino Dulce is very easy to start from cutting’s.
I put 3-4 cuttings in a 1 gallon pot in the shade and wait a week or two.
The fruits have a very pleasant Melon flavor and texture without being too sweet.
Very nice shrub that will climb up tree’s or trellis to 8 ft.
Produces a lot of fruit and well adapted to shadier growing conditions.
Cutting’s 8+ inches and freshly cut the day I ship.
10 cuttings for $23 shipped to you.
Fall Special
Bulk cutting’s available 50 cutting’s for $50 shipped.
These have been selling well locally for $6 a pound for anyone interested in a larger plant out.

Hello, do you still have this available? I have tried a few from local market, the texture and the juiciness is really good, but the flavor is rather bland. Does your variety taste sweet if we let it ripe on the tree? My South American friend told me the one she had in her country is as sweet as a ripe cantaloupe.

His varieties are delish, sweet like melon and juicy. I'm trying my best to root em out in Grodan wool, we'll see how it works! (first attempt not in soil)

Does it need hand pollination?
I am planning to build a trellis to cover my back yard.  I have purple and yellow passion fruit and concord grape.  I am thinking what other variety I can add to it.  Plant different varieties in each corner.

Yes , I still have cuttings available.
Hand pollination is not necessary, they readily set fruit.

Do these bushes grow in Florida? Can they take the rainy season and humidity?

They grow fine so far here in Alabama.
I got some cuttings from him awhile back... they have rooted, are growing and now flowering.
So far so good.

Are you growing them on their own roots? or are you grafting them onto selected rootstock?

Figured I’d post up my rooted cuttings. I would say these are humorously easy to root.  :o

New bulk packs available.
Good time of year to root now and plant late winter/early spring.
