No, for small scale traditional farming. Nashi and kaki grow well but most german kakis i tried are not tasty. And Diospyrus lotus is much smaller but grows much better, produces tons of seedlings.Teror is a good place for kakis if i remember right. Or Tunte. Not the south coast.
One more question. Is the Nam Doc Mai mango available there? I had them in Thailand and they remain my favorite variety to this day.
I have seen a guy at Instagram and he is from Oman (Muscat). He is growing mangosteen and Rambutan. However, I do agree with Durian they are hard to grow. Here is a picture of his Rambutan.

I had them in Thailand and they remain my favorite variety to this day. There are several types of Nam Doc Mai, which has been discussed here long time ago One of those types is the so called Nam Doc Mai Mun (here only known as Mun). A friend got it from a research station in Asia, I don't recall which one. I must admit it is probably the best NDM that I have tasted: ultra thin seed, great taste and texture. Find attached two pictures.
That's awesome Felipe. Are these widely available in Tenerife or are there particular places that you have to go to get them?
Grafted plants are sold in one nursery, but it is not the most sold cultivar. The people here not fond of exotic cultivars, they like big, red, late and well known cultivars, like Osteen, Keitt, etc. So its not easy to find fruit, in fact i have never seen someone selling Mun fruits..
