I believe that person is a forum member (greg794855). The Camu Camu Forest thread (https://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=30335.0) devolved into arguments between him and a few other forum members, and it does not look like he has been on the forum in a while.

If those trees are fruiting size and age, $600 is not a bad price compared to what some Myrtaceaes are being sold for right now. That is the choice that some of us rare fruit growers have to make: spend a lot of money on a fruiting plant or buy some relatively inexpensive seeds or seedlings and wait seven or eight years before they get old enough to fruit.

I should have seeds available over the next month or so. Please let me know how many you would like. I have to collect them and ship them fresh. $3 each seed. Please be warned that they are extremely difficult to grow.

Regarding the price per tree: The tree is far more valuable to me with regards to the fruit. I really do not want to sell them and rarely offer them for sale hence the current price.

I think givingtree has them now. I don’t sell my seeds or seedlings often due to wanting variation.

Very limited supply of Camu Camu seeds available right now, second generation from fruit picked in Louisiana a couple of days ago. Seeds are cleaned and will be shipped in a plastic bag. US only, $3.50 per seed. Message me to order seeds. I might have 50 or so. I’m not really sure.

Greg was not kidding about germination rates - Im getting roughly 6-7%. I'm going to grow these out instead of sell them for now, testing them in different environments. Will offer to the forum once I have a solid population.

Sowed about 200 seeds in 1g pots with another 100 in peat moss/vermiculite in ziploc - same germination rate.

Soil mixture is roughly 80% peat/kelloggs organic potting mix, 20% perlite/shredded wood chips/cow manure.

They like it wet. Always wet. At least as seedlings. Will post some pics later.

I believe the main issue affecting germination rates is the method of transport. They were dried and packaged when shipped. I assume if sowed directly from fruit the rates would be much higher.
