Thanks Thomas I am a little slow in the uptake I just realized that I can order seeds from Oscar, which I plan on doing. I do have other questions. I am not very versed in growing trees from seeds, How do I start? What so I use for potting soil for a Garcinia?

thanks,

Alex

Exactly JF, I thought this forum was about fruit not who I would like to shoot or who I respect for the sole reason of who they have shot.

Another Question if I do decide to get one of these, where is the best place to get it from? With all of the variability that they have who would have the best?

Thanks for your reply Adam. Having grown up in Ft. Pierce where everybody has a Surinam cherry bush I like them and it just so happens that I bought a house that has a bush that has fruit that taste excellant to me. However I want to extend my fruit tree arsenal and thought that one of these choices would be good.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Euginia Question
« on: May 09, 2013, 08:09:56 PM »
I know that taste is subjective but which has a better flavor Cherry of the rio grande or Grumichama? I have a big Surinam hedge and I think they are pretty O.K. but nothing to write home about. It would be nice to have a better tasting Euginia. So to all you experts out there which do you perfer?

P.S. Sorry for the spelling, good at numbers bad at letters!

CTMIAMI,

I will post pictures tomarrow. I live in Ft. Pierce, so not quite So. Florida but real close, we have been kind of dry here lately and my Brogdon is doing great with the watering.

I don't know how your Oro Negro have been growing, but mine has been slow, not like the Brogdon that grows like crazy.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Avocado help!!
« on: September 19, 2012, 08:38:11 PM »
Hi all,

I have an Oro Negro Avocado thats been in the ground since Jan. Since then it has been a happy little tree, it doesn't grow much but it seems happy and bushy. lately here in the last week or so it has not looked right, just a little scraggely and has been losing leaves (slightly more than normal). There is also black splotches on the little trunk, but i have the same thing on my Carrie Mango tree so I don't think its anything major. I only water two to three times a week, its on the same schedule as my Brogdon that is groing like a weed, so I don't think its too much. I Fertilize with citrus fertilizer from Lowes once a month.

Any suggestions are welcome, I do not want to lose this little Avocado.

Thanks,

Alex

Hello all,

Just wondering the particulars of the CC mango. Is it early, mid or late? how big does the tree grow? and how disease resistant is it?

Thanks for all your help,
