Is This Scion Too Late to Graft?

Its a Guava scion, is it too late to graft this one? When is it too late to graft?

yes and no...

if you cut scion so that one of the smaller buds pushing is the leader, and also thin off buds that are pushing, and in danger of breaking off anyway...then it will be a satisfactory piece of wood.

Thanks Adam, this piece is abot 11" long and has about 7 steps 1-1.5" apart with buds. Can I cut it in two pieces and try two scions? It will have at a min. 2 buds or 3 buds but length of scion aftger wedging would be only 4"-5"
