Atemoya?
« on: April 06, 2014, 11:17:42 PM »
Hi Friends,

Was at a Cherimoya farm yesterday and found a tree that looked different than the other Cherimoya tree's, and was holding many large lumpy green fruits. I think it might be an Atemoya but I am not sure… maybe it is just a Jumbo size Cherimoya producing tree. I have yet to eat it but will post pic's of seeds and flesh and description of the flavor.

Looks like an atemoya from Paul Thompsons old Edgehill property, what did the leaves look like? Here is a camera photo of the Edgehill Atemoya.

The leaves were lanceolate and a darker green than the other CHerimoya tree's... the tree also had a build sort of like Star-fruit.

I will try to get a picture.

ok, the fruit has similar characteristics. The photo of the one I have here was taken last week and still has a way to go to be ripe.
