Has anyone here ever been able to source  the giant Femminello Sfusato? I search for it for years & never found a source.

In Europe you can buy Sfusato Amalfitano plants from Tintory, but you can not buy the climate to grow such luxurious  fruits  :)
Tintory is also selling Ponzino Amalfitano Lemon that is probably shown on the photo above.

Hello Ilya,
I asked Tintori in the past about lemon Laaz is looking for, from Amalfi coast, and reply was, that this lemon we sell under the name Limone amalfitano ornamentale.

There is also another lemon, derivative of Femminello Ovale from  the island of Procida that resembles it,

If they come true from eed, that is probably what I planted a couple of months ago.

I just found a different shop (forgive me, I did not check if they ship outside of Italy).

http://shop.ruoppo.it/3-limone

Sorrento as well as Amalfi trees for a very good price if you ask met. 25 euro (like $30) for a 1.2m high tree. I think they are trustworthy since they are located in the region itself.

I mailed them, just to check if they ship abroad (my first mail in Italian :D).

Unfortunately, they only ship within Italy. This means, in the future my mother in law will have to receive a tree for me. :p

The shipping costs? Or do you need to get permits for plant imports?

Small twigs can be shipped in an envelope then you can graft them. Just get them from a virus free zone.

These giant lemons look like they may have more citron ancestry in them. And not sure if this is at all applicable here but I will point out just a few of these traditional citron varieties are actually pomelo-citron hybrids (so that could possibly have implications about where these larger lemons were bred from).

I might mention the connection to Ponderossa lemon, which can get pretty big in size but isn't really the best tasting lemon out there.

I happen to have Giant citron and pomelo, and plan to be doing some hybridization experiments. Perhaps hybridizing the two together with yuzu I might get a large sized lemon with good flavor and more hardiness.
