Canistel seedling question
« on: September 18, 2018, 07:48:25 PM »
One of my Canistel seedlings has branched into two parallel trunks, it seems. I'm thinking I either need to cut one off, pull the two apart so they grow outwards, or do nothing at all. So, what should I do?

Thanks!

Thanks! So now my next question is, how do I know which is the weak one? Both seem strong and sturdy with equally robust leaves. Does taller=stronger? Thanks!

This is a V branch, not a 2nd sprout as in the case of polyembrionic mango seeds. DO NOT cut off anything, the more branches the better for many trees if not most and this one of those.

Thanks, Thera! Should I separate them to grow more outwardly? In other words, somehow weigh them down in opposite directions? I feel they are too parallel, if that makes sense? Thanks!

I would leave it alone, it looks good to me.
