Ilama seeds for sale
« on: July 19, 2015, 02:41:56 PM »
I have Annona diversifolia seeds for sale. They are from the "Guillermo" cultivar I believe. The tree produces 50 to 100 fruits a year, some larger than a grapefruit or softball. Price is $1.5 per seed with a minimum order of 10 seeds. Email me if you are interested.
This is an old picture but the fruit is from the same tree.

Two or so have been splitting and falling for the last couple of weeks here in Ft. Myers. This is a mature tree about 18 feet tall or so and loaded with fruit, so that may have something to do with a wider harvest season than younger smaller trees.

50 - 100 fruits from an ilama grown in Florida?   Is that natural pollination or do you hand pollinate?

All natural. Not pollinated, not fertilized, not irrigated, not nothing. I think the rootstock is pond apple because it is twice as big as the trunk, but it doesn't sucker or have any galling. I am guessing the tree is at least 15 to 20 years old. I will try to snaps some pictures of the tree after work today.

The problem is that I'm a poor wannabe farmer who works five jobs desperately trying to save up enough money to buy my own land and the seeds are worth more than the fruits! Lol

Well I'm like Michael Jackson at a furniture store...(mentally speaking that is...I don't have a ton of money, but I'm willing to spend big on certain things!)

everything has a price!

what does it cost per fruit?  I'd be willing to spend some extra cash to make it worth your while!!!

let's get stupid...

I might never get a chance to taste this fruit again, so it's worth it to me!

let's figure out a reasonably unreasonable  price!!!

PLEASE!!!!!!

Here is another picture of the canopy. Doest do justice to the amount of fruit that are on the tree. One thing that I've noticed is this ulama grows more like a tree than a wide sprawling bush that others seem to.

Adam, did you try the Kory's fruit?

He hasn't tried it from this tree. To me it has a flavor of strawberry yogurt, very dislike any other annona I have tried (squamosa, reticulata, atemoya). The average fruit size is about a pound, some over 2 lbs like the one in the picture.

As a side note, this tree went through the last freeze we had ('09 or '10) with just defoliation.
